Like other video poker games, Double Double Bonus Poker uses a 52 single deck of cards, shuffled after each hand is dealt. All players are dealt 5 cards from which they choose which to keep and which to discard and then if necessary, new cards are dealt. To win the game, in the last hand, a player has to have a pair of Jacks (or more) and that is why it is very similar to Jacks or Better video poker.
What Distinguishes Double Double Bonus Poker
There is a difference with this game. If a player gets a paired hand, they are entitled to more money. The lowest payout is for Jacks or better or a two pair (but in this situation a player can only break even). The player can get an extra five “4 of a kind” win combinations (much more than is available with Jacks or Better for example). However, bear in mind that in Jacks or Better you get 10 x on a 2 pair combo, whilst Double Double Bonus Play Power Poker pays out 5x. So there is a tradeoff. One will lose Double Double Bonus Poker if they don’t have at least a pair of Jacks. The double feature in Double Double Bonus Poker means that players can win at least “double” on a 4 of a kind combination.
